A propeller has many 'design components' that affect the performance of a propeller.
In Crystal Ball these components can be adjusted individually or collectively and the calculated effect of the component adjustment is displayed.
Initially the propellers diameter, measured mean pitch, and current RPM are keyed in.
Components are then selected and adjusted. Crystal Ball calculates the effect and displays the following.
Calculated Effective Pitch
Based on the added or included component effect the effective pitch is calculated and displayed against the measured mean pitch as a value and also in bar graph form.
Calculated RPM Change
Based on the added or included component effect the effected RPM is calculated and displayed against the actual RPM as a value and also in bar graph form.
Calculated Percentage Change
Based on the added or included component effect the percentage change of the effective pitch and affected RPM is displayed against the measured pitch and actual RPM.
Adjustable propeller components are:
- DISK AREA RATIO
- PITCH SPAN
- SECTION SHAPE
A components 'green bar' can be clicked and dragged resulting in the component effect automatically recalculating.
